local Insurance Brokerage, European Financial Planning Group SL, www.efpg.es, are once again walking for charity from sunrise on Saturday 7th May 2022. They will be joining thousands of people across Ireland and throughout the world for the Darkness into Light fundraising event.
Local organiser, Scarlett Humphreys, states:-

The last two years have been so difficult for everyone and they have been especially difficult for those affected by suicide and self-harm. More people than ever are relying on the self-saving services that Pieta provides free of charge, to those in suicidal distress, those who are self-harming, and those who have been bereaved by suicide.
You can help keep these essential services available to those who need them most by helping me reach my fundraising goal. The Darkness into Light event is a fundraiser for Pieta House which provides counseling to anyone struggling with suicide or for anyone impacted by suicide. Joan Freeman, an Irish psychologist and politician, founded Pieta House in 2006. Pieta House aims to support those who are in suicidal distress, engage in self-harm, or are bereaved by suicide. They offer free services with the goal to ensure accessibility and help to anyone in need.
Darkness into Light is an annual walking event and fundraiser that initially started in Ireland. Participants meet before dawn on a particular Saturday in May and walk or run for 5km to meet the sunrise. Founded in 2008 by psychologist Joan Freeman, the first fundraiser took place in the Phoenix Park, Dublin. 400 attended the first event and since then has grown to over 200,000 participants in over 150 locations and in more 19 countries around the world.
